As a part of my life change I will be discharging from the military, as a result I attended a 3 day transition seminar focused on the change from military life to civilian life. Over the 3 days we had speakers talk on subjects such as

  • Job interview techniques
  • Resume writing
  • Financial planning
  • Superannuation
  • Starting a Small Business
  • and more....
One speaker stood out in particular spoke of his transfer from the military to civilian life, he is now a motivational speaker/personal coach. Some of the things he said that stood out the most are as follows:
  1. Who you are - You need to identify who you are as an individual.
  2. Vision - Identify where it is you want to be in your life, set goals and achievements.
  3. Method - How are you going to achieve your vision and become who you want to be.
  4. Time and Space - Give yourself enough time and space to achieve your vision.
  5. Flexible - Remain open to change and adapt to change.
How tall does a tree grow? ... As tall as it's environment will allow it to.

If you find yourself not growing to the height that you would like to, Then change your environment to allow for you to grow to greater heights.

I also read somewhere that if you want to become successful you need to surround yourself with successful people, or people that have the same ambitions as you.

Over all a good 3 days that will definitely assist in the movement from the military to the civilian life.
